Summer, in all its glory, has finally arrived here in the Pacific Northwest. Over the nearly 30 years that my husband and I have lived here, we've learned to be patient. While our relatives in South Dakota are enjoying summer-like weather as early as mid-May, we calmly wait through our unpredictable spring. Warm and sunny one day, rainy for weeks. But, from the 4th of July through the end of September, there is no place I'd rather be than Western Washington.
Our weather this time of year is, at least by my standards, perfect. High temperatures in the 70s to low 80s with evenings in the low 60s. We have long stretches of sunny days with robin egg blue skies. Our days are incredibly long, too, stretching from sunrise at 4:30 a.m. to dusk at almost 10 p.m. For these next several weeks, we receive very little, if any, rain. That fact always surprises folks since we are only about six miles west of downtown Seattle (we live on a peninsula in Puget Sound and ride a ferry to Seattle). If you have ever contemplated a visit to the Pacific Northwest, you can rarely go wrong coming in late July or early August.
As you kick back and relax a bit this summer, I'd like to entice you to try our new E-Books. Since introducing this product category last May, we have been amazed at the response. It is pretty cool to be able to order a book and then, within minutes, download it to your computer. No waiting and no shipping fees!!!! Our customers tell us they love having our books on their computers where they can selectively print as many copies of an activity page as they need. Over the coming weeks, we will be adding new titles on a regular basis so be sure to visit us, often. We just uploaded completely updated versions of our top-selling skill-based activity books, Glad To Be Me and Zoobilee!
Whether you're new to this product category or an E-Book pro, we're offering you a FREE summer-themed E-book ! Simply email us at and we'll send you instrucions on how to download your FREE copy of Wild About Watermelons, an $8.95 value.
